Supervision

Each master candidate will be followed up by at least one actively functioning supervisors throughout the master programme. The supervisors must have a PhD. The main supervisor is an employee of the faculty.

The Postgraduate School is responsible for ensuring that external supervisors are notified of the regulations and rules that govern the master programme.

If the master candidate wants to change supervisor, the change of supervisor form must be completed. Both the former supervisor and the new supervisor must sign the form. The form will be sent to the Postgraduate School which will send the case to the faculty for a final decision.

Thesis

The thesis will be an independent, scientific work that meets international standards in terms of ethical requirements, academic level and methods. The rules contain requirements for theses. Theses at the Faculty of Ocean Engineering Technology and Informatics are written in English or Malay.

Progress evaluation

You must submit written progress reports. It is the faculty’s responsibility to ensure that reports are submitted every semester by the candidate and evaluated by supervisors. When the faculty has received all reports, a summary will be prepared and discussed in the faculty meeting. Any significant deviations from the candidate’s schedule or other special matters must be specified and remarked on in the summary.
